Ownership hits different.

I guess the word is out…we bought our first house!

Home ownership is NO JOKE. From working our a**es off to save up to afford a home (in SoCal, yeesh), getting qualified for a loan, making an offer, getting the offer accepted, home inspections, requests for repairs, finalizing the loan…all the way through closing. It was a whirlwind and we finally made it to the other side!

Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. Plus, this Cancer is happy to report we somehow finagled a pool out of this (that was never a “must”-have…or was it ).

…and now here come some fun upgrades because she may be gorgeous but she’s in original 1958 condition, so DM “close friends” to see behind-the-scenes renovations. Her bones are good, we’ve just got some updating to do (which includes a new office!)

I’m not going to lie - home ownership feels great, but I’d be lying if I didn’t mention that it feels even more reassuring knowing you’re treating your business with the same respect and care you’d treat your home, car, or other personal property.

Similar to home ownership, LEGAL ownership of your business is no joke and shouldn’t be taken lightly. There’s no such thing as an “overnight success” and there’s many different areas your business needs to be protected and legal ownership should be secured:

Forming a proper entity with your state (LLC/Corp., etc.);

®️ Registering your brand name for trademark protection;

©️ Registering your original content and creations for copyright protection;

Creating and using rock-solid contracts that keep everything secure.
